FAQ’s - Permanent Makeup
What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup (PMU) is a cosmetic tattoo that enhances your natural features, such as brows, lips, or freckles. Unlike traditional tattoos, PMU is designed to fade gradually over time, giving you a soft, natural look that can be refreshed with touch-ups.

How long does permanent makeup last?
Results vary depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and the procedure. On average:
Brows:1-3 years
Lips:2-4 years
Freckles:1-3 years
Scalp micropigmentation: 4-6 vyears

Does it hurt?
Discomfort is minimal. A topical numbing cream is applied before and/or during your session to keep you comfortable. Some clients describe the sensation as light scratching or pressure. Numbing is not used for Freckles or SMP.

How many sessions will I need?
Permanent makeup is usually a two-step process:
1. Initial appointment- where most of the work is done.
2. Touch-up appointment (6-8 weeks later) to perfect the shape and color once your skin has healed.

What is the healing process like?
Healing usually takes about 7-14 days. You may experience some redness, swelling, scabbing, or flaking. Color will look darker at first, then soften as the skin heals. Full healing and color settling can take up to 4 weeks.

How should I prepare for my appointment?
Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and blood- thinning medications (like aspirin/ibuprofen) for 24 hours before.
Do not use skincare products with retinol, acids, or exfoliants on the area for at least a week.
Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup in the treatment area.

Who is not a good candidate for permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup may not be suitable if you are:
-
Pregnant and breastfeeding
-
Under 18 years old
-
Prone to keloid scarring
-
Diabetic or on blood-thinning medications (doctor’s note may be required)
-
Currently undergoing chemotherapy or have certain skin conditions in the treatment area.

How do I take care of my PMU after the procedure?
You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions and an aftercare kit, but generally:
-
Keep the area clean and dry.
-
Do not scratch, pick, or peel at the scabs.
-
Avoid heavy sweating, swimming, saunas, and direct sun exposure for 10-14 days.
-
Apply the recommended ointment sparingly, if advised.

Can I wear makeup after my procedure?
Avoid applying makeup directly over the treated area until it has fully healed. You can continue to wear makeup on other parts of your face as usual.

How much does it cost?
Pricing varies depending on the procedure. Please check my booking page for the most up-to-date- pricing information.

Pro-tip: Always schedule your procedure at least 2-3 weeks before vacations, weddings, or important events to allow time for proper healing.

FAQ’s- Fineline Tattoos
What is a fineline tattoo?
Fineline tattoos use delicate, precise lines to create minimalistic or detailed designs. They’re known for their elegant, subtle look and are perfect for floral, ornamental, and script designs.
Do fineline tattoos hurt more than regular tattoos?
Pain varies depending on the location of the tattoo and your personal pain tolerance. Because fineline tattoos usually use fewer needles and lighter pressure, many clients find them more tolerable than traditional tattoos.
Do fineline tattoos fade quickly?
Not if they’re done correctly. Depth is key — a tattoo that’s too shallow may fade, while one done at the right depth will hold well. Placement also matters: areas with more friction (like fingers or inner thighs) may fade faster.
Factors that can cause fading:
-
Improper depth (too shallow = quicker fading)
-
Placement (hands, fingers, feet, and areas with lots of friction)
-
Sun exposure (UV light breaks down pigment)
-
Aftercare (picking scabs or skipping sunscreen)

How should I prepare for my fineline tattoo?
• Get a good night’s sleep and eat before your appointment.
• Stay hydrated.
• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood thinners (like aspirin/ibuprofen) 24 hours before.
• Wear comfortable clothing that gives access to the tattoo area.
Read more on this topic on my precare page.
How do I care for my tattoo afterward?
• Keep the tattoo clean and follow the aftercare instructions provided.
• Avoid soaking, scratching, or exposing the tattoo to direct sun while healing.
• Moisturize lightly once healed and always use sunscreen to prevent fading.
Can you tattoo over scars or stretch marks?
It depends on the area and skin condition. Fineline tattoos may not always be the best choice for scar coverups. I’ll review your idea and let you know what’s possible.
Do you do coverups or color tattoos?
No — I specialize only in fineline black & grey tattoos. For coverups, fixer-uppers, or color tattoos, I’ll be happy to recommend another artist who specializes in that style.

✨ Pro Tip: Always wear SPF on your tattoos. Sun damage is the #1 reason tattoos fade early.
